Stephenville, Texas
September 1, 1936.
The City.Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, met in
regular session on the first of September, 1936, with Mayor Henry
Clark and the following aldermen present: K. D. Hamilton, Geo.
"Minter, H. C. Martin, R. B. Bassel, C. L. Cromwell, and City
;Attorney E. T. Chandler.

Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved.

J. Thos. Davis came before the Council asking for improvement,o
in water service at John Tarleton College. After discussion of
the matter, a motion was made by Geo. Minter, seconded by K. D. I
Hamilton, that Aldermen C. L. Cromwell and H. C. Martin, and Water'i
Superintendent N. Hays Anderson go to Thurber and make such purchase
of water mains as they thought needed to complete the above men-
tioned purpose. Motion carried.

An audit of City and Water Department accounts was asked for '!
by the City Secretary. A motion was made by C. L. Cromwell, sec-
onded by Geo. Minter, that the Finance Committee secure an auditori

to audit such accounts. Motion carried.
The budget for the year 1936-1937 was presented for approval.'
Notion was made by Geo. Minter, seconded by R. B. Bassel, that thei'[
budget be accepted and approved. Motion carried.
Bills and accounts were read, and on motion by Geo. Minter,
seconded by C. L. Cromwell, were allowed and ordered paid, after
which the Council then stood adjourned in an adjourned regular
meeting subject to the Mayor's call.

The City Council of The City of Stephenville met in an ad-
journed regular meeting on the above date, with the following mem-!
bers present: Mayor Clark, K Hamilton, R B. B ssel, J. 0.
Blakene , H, C. Martin, C. . Cromwell, eo Min er, J. C. Holcomb,

Mayor Clark stated that the object of the meeting was for th,
".purpose of submitting to Mr. Jno. B. Collier a building lot for
the location of a cheese factory, and any other business that shoe
come before the Council. A motion was made by C. L. Cromwell,
seconded by J. C. Holcomb, that Mayor Clark appoint a committee o:
three to negotiate a trade with Mr. Collier for the location of
the factory. Motion carried. Mr. Clark appointed J. C. Holcomb,
,Geo. Minter, and J. 0. Blakeney, as the committee.
'A motion was made by J. 0. Blakeney, seconded by Geo. Minter 'that the salary of J. T. Arnold be raised to $65.00 per month.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by R. B. Bassel, seconded by Geo. Minter,
that the City join the League of Texas Municipalities. Motion
carried.
There being no further business,
adjourned regular meeting.

The City Council met o* September 19, 1936, with the follow

,.ing members present: Mayor Clark, R. B. Bassel, Geo. Minter,
'J. 0. Blakeney, H. C. Martin, K. D. Hamilton, and C. L. Cromwell.
The purpose of the meeting being in regard to the purchase
of 12 inch water main. A motion was made by R. B. Bassel, secon-
::ded by Geo. Minter, that the Mayor send a committee to Thurber
with authority to purchase such 12 inch pipe,as in their judgment
was needed. Committee appointed: C. L. Cromwell, H. C. Martin
and N. Hays Anderson.
The Council then adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting,
subject to call of the Mayor.
