The City Council, of the City of Stephenville, met in reg session on August 4, 1936, with the following members present: Mayor Henry Clark, and Aldermen H. C. Martin, T. T. Oliver, Ge Minter, C. L. Cromwell, J. 0. Blakeney, and J. C. Holcomb. Business was called for by the Mayor. A petition of C. B. Troup, and others, asking for support of the Council in regard to having the Gas Company extend gas servico ;to places asked for in the petition was presented. Motion was made by George Minter, seconded, by J. C. Holcomb, that the Coun-j' oil ask the Gas Company to extend service to the above parties. :Motion carried. The petition of Mrs. Chas. Long, and others, asking for an 11 'election to be called for the purpose of issuing City Warrants, tip an amount not to exceed $35,000.00, for the purpose of building a swimming pool, recrbation hall, and golf course, was presented.;; After discussion of the matter, a motion was made by J. 0. Blakeney, ,seconded by George Minter, that an election be ordered held for t#e !purpose of issuing warrants to the amount, and for the purpose as above.stated. Motion duly carried. a A motion was made by J. 0. Blakeney, seconded by T. T. Olive, ','that said mentioned warrants be issued in a ual amounts over a period of 10 years, with interest rate of 5�. Motion carried. A motion by C. L. Cromwell, seconded by George Minter, that j the Council pledge one-half the net earnings of the City Water J Works, and one-half the net earnings of the Sewer Maintenance Fund, each year, as payment of said warrants. Motion carried. Mr. Hooker came before the Council asking for half time .employee to help investigate and distribute relief commodities to relief subjects. A motion was made by J. 0. Blakeney, seconds :by J. C. Holcomb, that Mr. Hooker's request be granted and that Mrs. Ploy Young be employed two weeks in each month at a salary lof $20.00 per week. The motion carried. Bills and accounts were read and on motion by George Minter, seconded by C. L. Cromwell, were allowed and ordered paid. The Council then adjourned in an adjourned regular meeting, subject to the Mayor's call. I/ A , I/ ATTEST: — Mayor. City Secretary. 21 Stephenville, Texas August 31, 1936. The City Council, of the City of Stephenville, met on the above date, with Mayor Clark, and the following Aldermen present: R. B. Bassel, J. 0. Blakeney, C. L. Cromwell, Geo. Minter, and 'H. C. Martin. The Mayor stated that the purpose of the meeting was to con- ''sider a place for the storage of Relief Commodities. on motion by R. B. Bassel, seconded by H. C. Martin, the Council granted the Relief parties the use of the Poultry Build- ing at the City Park, reserving the right to use the building for Fair purposes. Motion carried.
