AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 71.08 USE OF WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE FOR ELECTRONIC
MESSAGING WHILE OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE FROM THE CODE OF ORDINANCE AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS House Bill 62 was signed by Governor Abbott and went into effect on September 1, 2017,
and the new state law is similar in content to Section 71.08 of the Stephenville Code of Ordinance,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS, that Section 71.08 USE OF
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE FOR ELECTRONIC MESSAGING WHILE OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE be
removed from the Code of Ordinance, effective immediately.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, this 51h
day of September, 2017.
