City of Stephenville -City Council
TUESDAY, JULY 299 1996 - 5:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened in special session on July 29, 1996
at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 354 N. Belknap Street, with the meeting being
open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving the date, time, place and subject thereof, having
been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Government Code, Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, with
the following members present, to wit:
Mayor John Pollan
Councilmembers: Barbara Terrell
Joel Hillin
Scott Evans
Billy Bob Hodges
Absent: Bill Corbin
Marshall Shelton
Others Attending Don Davis, City Administrator
Cindy L. Stafford, City Secretary
Randy Thomas, City Attorney
I. CALL TO ORDER,
Mayor Pollan called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and declared a quorum present.
He acknowledged his wife, Joyce, and their grandson, Eric Baker, and thanked them
for attending the meeting.
H, EXECUTIVE SESSION. At 5:30 p.m., Mayor Pollan recessed the open portion
of this meeting, and the Council went into executive session in compliance with the
provisions of the Texas Open Meetings Act, Subchapter D., § 5 51.071(1)(A), Local
Government Code, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, in accordance with the
authority contained in Consultation with Attorney; Closed Meeting; pending or
contemplated litigation.
Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, et al v. Texas Water Commission, et al; Cause
No. 432,066; In the 98th Judicial District Court, Travis County, Texas.
Mayor Pollan recessed the Executive Session at 6:28 p.m., and called the Council back into open
session.

M. ACTION TAKEN ON MATTER DISCUSSED IN EXECUTIVE SESSION
(if necessary)
Councilmember Evans made the motion to employ: the law firm of Brown and Potts,
L.L.P. to bring to the full Council a plan of action to continue the appeal process in
the above -styled and numbered lawsuit. Councilmember Terrell seconded the motion,
and the motion passed by unanimous roll call vote.
M. ADJOURN
There being no other business to come before the Council at this time, Mayor Pollan
adjourned the meeting at 6 : 3 6 p.m.
