City of Stephenville - City Council
MONDAY, JULY 24, 1989 - 6:00 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, convened in special session
on July 24, 1989 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall , 354 N.
Belknap, with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting,
giving the date, time, place and subject thereof, having been posted as
prescribed by Article 6252-17, Section 3A, V.T.C.S. , with the following members
present, to wit:
Mayor: George Swearingen
Mayor Pro Tem: Bob Self
Helen Martin
Vicki L. Truss
James L. McSwain
Jim Bostic
Joel M. Hillin
Absent: Councilmembers Allen Horne and Ray Reynolds
Others Attending:
Charlene Young Acting City Administrator
Joyce Pemberton City Secretary
Joseph Chandler City Attorney
Randy Thomas Assistant City Attorney
Mayor George Swearingen called the meeting to order and declared a quorum pre-
sent.
89-07-185: HEAR PROPOSALS FROM THREE ENGINEERING FIRMS REGARDING FEASIBILITY
STUDIES ON SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL.
The Council heard proposals from Freese & Nichols, Inc. , Alan Plummer
& Associates, Inc. and The Nelson Corporation regarding their respec-
tive feasibility studies for the City' s solid waste disposal .
No action was taken at this time.
Mayor Swearingen recessed the open portion of this meeting and called
89-07-186: AN EXECUTIVE SESSION as provided in the Open Meetings Law, V.T.C.S. ,
Article 6252-17, Section 2(g) , for the purpose of discussing Council-
members' attendance at City Council meetings.
Mayor Swearingen closed the executive session and reconvened the
Council in open session.
No action was taken on matters discussed in executive session.
There being no other business to come before the Council , Mayor Swearingen
adjourned the meeting at 9:35 p.m.
