HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-O-18 - Abandoned Street Gary CrowRESOLVED, that the following described land has been declared
to have been abandoned for street and parkway purposes and ordered
vacated and closed as a street and as a parkway by ordinance of
the City Council of the City of Stephenville, Texas, which appears
of record in Book I at page 11 of the minutes of said Council, and
such land is now under lease to GARY CROW who, in connection with
said lease, was given option to purchase said land from the City
of Stephenville at its appraised value:
Being that certain tract of land shown on page 650 on King's
1956 Map of Stephenville located north of Lot 17 of Block 1,
of the Greenview Addition to the City of Stephenville with
said addition being recorded in Volume 328, page 103 of the
Deed Records of Erath County, Texas, being the same tract of
land leased by Gary Crow from the City of Stephenville as
recorded on March 14, 1988 in Volume 739, page 384 of the
Deed Records of Erath County, Texas, with said tract of land
being more fully described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at an existing iron pin located in the south right
of way line of West Washington Street (U.S. Hwy 67 and 377)
being the NE corner of Lot 18 of said Greenview Addition, for
the NW corner of this;
THENCE N 600 38' E, 150 feet, along the south right-of-way
line of West Washington Street (U.S. Hwy. 67 and 377) being
the north side of a proposed traffic island to an iron pin in
the west line of Park Drive for the NE corner of this;
THENCE S 290 22' E, 60 feet, along the west line of Park
Drive to a R.R. spike being the NE corner of Lot 17 of the
said Greenview Addition for the SE corner of this;
THENCE S 600 38' W, 150 feet along the north line of said Lot
17 to an iron pin for the SW corner of this;
THENCE N 290 22' W, 60 feet, along the east line of said Lot
18 to the place of beginning;
and GARY CROW is asserting claim to an interest in said land by
virtue of deeds executed to him and has offered to purchase said
land at its appraised value of $15,000.00 together with costs of
appraisal, survey of such land and preparation of a deed from the
CITY OF STEPHENVILLE to him and being the total sum of $15,410.00;
and such controversy should be settled between the City and Gary
Crow; and LARRY HAMMETT, Mayor of the City of Stephenville, is
hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Stephenville
to GARY CROW a special warranty deed conveying the land above
described in consideration of the payment of the sum of
$1594109000
