The regular meeting of the Board of Adjustment of the City of Stephenville was called to order
by Chairperson Moumin Quazi at 4:OOpm with the following members present:
Chairperson: Moumin Quazi
Members Present: Kerrie Wallace Vic Cogburn Stephen McKethan
Brandon Huckabee
Absent:
Also attending was Jeremy Allen, Interim of Director of Planning and Building Services,Shyra
King, Board of Adjustment Secretary and members of the community.
ITEM I: CONSIDER FOR APPROVAL MINUTES OF THE JUNE 8,2017 MEETING.
Board member Stephen McKethan made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 8,2017
meeting. Board member Vic Cogburn seconded the motion.The motion carried by the following
vote:
AYES:All members present voted aye.
NOES:none.
ITEM II Public Hearing Case No.: V2017-009: Applicant, Martin Aguilar, is requesting a 22
ft.Variance from the rear yard setback requirements,and a 17 ft.Variance from the side
yard setback requirements of a corner lot, in order to construct a carport to within 3 ft.
of the rear property line, and 8 ft. of the side property line in an R-1 (Single Family
Residential) zoned district, located at 787 W. Shirley Street, being the south part of Lot
6, Block 13, of the Shapard & Collins Addition to the City of Stephenville, Erath County,
Texas.
Jeremy Allen, Interim Director of Planning and Building Services, addressed the Board,
explaining the Variance request by Martin Aguilar to allow them to construct a carport
within the required front and side yard setbacks.
Staff recommendation was no objection to the Variance request.
Chairperson Moumin Quazi opened the public hearing.
THOSE IN FAVOR OF THE VARIANCE REQUEST:
Anna Aguilar(spouse)was present,and answered any question(s) presented.
THOSE NOT IN FAVOR OF THE VARIOUS REQUEST:
No persons spoke on behalf of not approving the requested Variance.
Chairperson Moumin Quazi closed the public hearing @ 4:06pm.
Board member Vic Cogburn made a motion to approve the Variance request as submitted for
Case No.: V2017-009
Board member Stephen McKethan seconded the motion. The motion carried by the following
vote.
AYES: All member present voted aye.
NOES: None
There being no other business to come before theCommission the pZtngjourned at 4:09 P.M.
