VI. Public Hearing Case No. TF2017-001
1 Consider recommending an amendment to the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, with an amendment to the
Thoroughfare Plan, by changing the classifications of Christi Plaza, from a proposed minor arterial,
and Lockhart Rd. from a proposed local road, to proposed collector streets.
Moved by Nick Robinson, seconded by Bill Muncey
Jeremy Allen presented the case to amend the thoroughfare plan. Allen stated that staff is
recommending amending the thoroughfare Plan by changing the classifications of Christi
Plaza, from a proposed minor arterial, and Lockhart Rd. from a proposed local road, to
proposed collector streets Christi Plaza.
The changes proposed should encourage development south of Washington. The minor
arterial requires a 100-120 ft. Right of Way to be dedicated and built by the developer. By
changing the classification to collector street the required Right of Way to be dedicated and
build is 60-70 ft. The reduced ROW should be beneficial to development South of
Washington.
By changing the classifications of these roads will maintain access and mobility to residents,
fiscal stewardship and preserve local character.
